Logo Edge WMS Basic — barcode warehouse management
Logo Edge WMS Basic handles warehouse tasks on mobile devices, from goods receipt to order picking and despatch. For operations using its standard parameters, we prepare product, location and unit definitions alongside the ERP records.
Edge WMS Basic suits warehouses that want to manage receiving, putaway, picking and shipping through handheld devices. Existing parameters define the workflow. Consistent item codes, units, locations and opening inventory give the team a usable starting point.

Records from receiving to shipping
Receiving, putaway and order picking form one chain of warehouse movements. Barcode scanning supplies item information at the point of work. Connecting stock updates with physical movements links daily operations to inventory counts.
Locations, pallets and expiry dates
Location, handling-unit or pallet tracking and expiry-date options are activated through parameters. Different warehouses require different levels of detail. The item-to-location relationship becomes important when the same product occupies several shelves.
Handheld and mobile devices
The product supports iOS, Android and Windows mobile use. Scanner type, label format and connectivity belong in device selection. A device used in wet conditions or with gloves may have very different requirements from an office phone.
Information shared with ERP
Item, account and order information moves from ERP to WMS, with warehouse transactions returning to ERP. An incorrect carton-to-item conversion can distort quantities even when the connection works, making item and unit definitions fundamental.

Basic versus Platform
Basic focuses on configuring warehouse flows through existing parameters. Edge WMS Platform becomes relevant for custom steps, development or broader automation connections. Warehouse size alone does not decide the choice; rule complexity matters.
Preparing for warehouse use
We check product barcodes, pack-to-unit conversions, location codes and opening stock. Receipt, picking and despatch tasks are tried with the warehouse team, checking that handheld movements reach the ERP with the correct quantities.
Questions and answers
Does WMS Basic replace ERP inventory management?+
ERP maintains commercial and accounting records while WMS manages physical warehouse work. Their connection relates shelf movements to commercial stock records.
Is Basic suitable for custom development?+
Requirements beyond its parameters, including custom code or workflows, point towards Platform. Basic should not be treated as an unrestricted custom-development platform.
We develop services that move records between ERP, payroll, field and internal applications. For each order, despatch note or employee record, we define the source, mapping, transfer result and error handling as parts of the same connection.
We prepare a tracking structure linking equipment location, responsibility and financial records. We identify which needs belong in the ERP’s fixed-asset functions and which require assignment or stocktake tools.
Describe your warehouse operation
Describe how you receive goods and pick orders today. We will review how these tasks fit the Basic scope.
